A new development project has been launched in the rural areas of Barkor and Norkor in Unity State, aimed at improving access to clean water through the installation of five solar-powered water stations. The project is being implemented with the support of the international humanitarian organization Concern Worldwide.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to provide safe and reliable drinking water to local communities suffering from a lack of clean water, and reflects a broader push to upgrade essential infrastructure in underserved areas.
Local residents expressed their deep appreciation for Unity State Governor Hon. Justice Riak Beam Top, commending his pivotal role in facilitating and coordinating the implementation of the project. They noted that his support demonstrates a strong commitment to development and improving public services.
A local delegation recently conducted an inspection tour of the project sites, also reviewing progress on the construction of a new road linking Barkor and Norkor, which has officially begun at its starting point. The delegation further visited the Governor’s model agricultural project in Norkor, a key example of support for sustainable agriculture and rural development.
Citizens praised Governor Beam Top, describing him as a humble and dedicated leader who consistently prioritizes the well-being of his people. They emphasized that such projects represent a major step forward in achieving comprehensive development across the state.
