Estifano Wiyo Malik Sworn in as President of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in the Ruweng Administrative Area

The new president of the Ruweng Administrative Area, Estifano Wiyo Malik, took the oath of office on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, as the President of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in the area. The swearing-in ceremony was led by Daniel Oyet Akot, the Deputy President of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement.

The event was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of States, senior members of the SPLM, former government officials from the Ruweng Administrative Area, and local leaders.

Estifano Wiyo Malik expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, particularly President Salva Kiir Mayardit, for granting him a second opportunity to serve both the people of the Ruweng Administrative Area and the SPLM.

In his address, Estifano emphasized his commitment to strengthening the values and vision of the SPLM, prioritizing the provision of essential services to the local community, such as healthcare, education, and other vital services.

Daniel Oyet Akot, the SPLM Deputy President, made a heartfelt call for unity among the people of the Ruweng Administrative Area. He urged the Ruweng community to resolve their differences peacefully and work together for the development of the region.

Oyet also encouraged the newly appointed president of the SPLM in the Ruweng Area, Estifano Wiyo Malik, to ensure equality in the treatment of all citizens and to provide more opportunities for women to participate in governance and decision-making processes.
