The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Major General Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, on Saturday assessed the situation in Terekeka County following a deadly land conflict between residents of Jur and Koji areas in Terekeka Payam, Terekeka County.
The violent clash, which erupted over disputed grazing land, resulted in eight deaths and 18 injuries, along with the destruction of numerous homes. The incident also forced many families—especially women and children from Koji village—to flee their homes.

Governor Jadalla personally visited the affected communities to assess the situation, deliver a message of peace, and initiate an urgent government intervention. In a speech to the displaced, the Governor strongly condemned the violence and ordered the deployment of security forces to stabilize the area and prevent further escalation.

“We must reject the politics of division and separation. This problem was not caused by you (the displaced), but by political actors with selfish agendas. You are all from the Mundari people. It is our unity—not division—that must guide us toward the future.”Governor Jadalla stated
The Governor’s delegation delivered emergency food aid and pledged continued support for the affected families.
Acting Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Jacob Aligo Lado, assured the displaced and local residents of the state government’s commitment to finding a peaceful and sustainable solution.

“The Governor’s timely intervention has significantly contributed to calming the situation. We expect displaced persons to begin returning to their homes in the coming days with adequate support.”Mr. Aligo said
Chief Ibrahim Gai, a traditional leader of Terekeka County, praised the Governor’s leadership and expressed confidence in the government’s ability to resolve the crisis.
“We are grateful for the Governor’s presence among us. We hope the government will handle this matter with seriousness and urgency,” he said.
The Governor was accompanied by a high-level state delegation that included:
- Peace and Security Advisor, Mr. Angelo Daya
- Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs, Mr. Taban Emmanuel Baya
- Minister of Peacebuilding, Mr. Jacob Aligo
- Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Stephen Lado Onesimo
- Minister of Roads and Bridges, Mr. Clement Maring
- Along with senior security officials

The Governor’s Press Office reaffirmed Central Equatoria State’s firm commitment to peace, unity, and the protection of all citizens.
