Mr. Mabuong Manjok Mabuong, one of the sons of the Derawet area after which the company was named, visited the headquarters of Derawet Media Group and Al-Wadi Newspaper today, accompanied by Mr. Deng Bol Agot Bol, one of the active young members of the community in the city of Juba. They were received by Mr. Manyjok Kong Manyjok, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Derawet Media Group.
Mr. Mabuong praised the role played by the group in the media sector, calling on the management to expand its activities to include coverage of events and social activities, as well as working on training and empowering youth. He also emphasized promoting tourism in the region as an important pillar for supporting social and economic development and contributing to improving the income level of community members.
For his part, Mr. Manyjok Kong Manyjok explained that Derawet Group includes, in addition to its media activities, several other projects, including a training institute and a company for organizing events, cultural activities, and festivals. He pointed out that the implementation of these projects has been postponed for the time being due to limited funding, noting that the launch of Derawet Media Group and Al-Wadi Newspaper aims to support the promotion of these other projects in the future.
Kong also confirmed the readiness of Derawet Media Group to cover social occasions and various cultural events, and to highlight the positive aspects of the cultures of the peoples of South Sudan and strengthen their presence in the media landscape.
