The Management Committee of Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet) discussed the company’s key institutional priorities during its weekly strategic meeting, held on Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Juba.
The committee formally approved the 2026–2028 Strategic Plan for the Downstream Directorate, presented by the Director General, Mr. Juma John. The plan is intended to serve as a roadmap for addressing capability gaps in the energy sector and enhancing the company’s presence in the local market.
According to the company’s official Facebook page, the new three-year strategy focuses on optimizing the use of Nilepet’s physical assets to achieve sustainable revenue growth, as well as leveraging existing depots and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facilities to improve operational efficiency.
The plan also includes expanding the network of fuel retail outlets to ensure reliable energy access across the country, while transitioning to a retail model that prioritizes the consumer experience and local market-driven initiatives, aiming to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen a robust domestic energy economy.
The approval of this plan underscores Nilepet’s commitment to managing South Sudan’s oil and gas resources with transparency and efficiency, supported by a forward-looking commercial strategy aimed at sustainability and growth.
