The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Dams, Eng. Madio Achuil, confirmed that the ministry has discussed with JEDCO, the electricity distribution company in Juba, a plan to reduce electricity tariffs in the capital city.
Eng. Madio stated that the tariff reduction will continue over the coming period until it aligns with the prevailing rates in the region.
He added that the ministry’s upcoming plans aim to expand electricity supply beyond Juba to other states, with the goal of ensuring electricity access for all and boosting the country’s industrial sector.
The ministry has agreed with JEDCO to reduce electricity prices by 15%, ensuring that every citizen in Juba can access power, enabling factories to operate and provide essential services to the people. Electricity, he emphasized, is a key driver of development in the country.
