North Bahr El-Ghazal Government Receives Waidwell Primary School from Norwegian Organization

The Government of North Bahr El-Ghazal has officially received Waidwell Primary School from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) after the organization carried out maintenance work, including the construction of additional classrooms and an administrative building, as well as the rehabilitation of two buildings containing eight classrooms.

The handover ceremony was attended by several prominent figures from the state government, including the Minister of Education and Guidance, Akoon Deng Angok, the Governor of Western Aweil, Aboul, the Member of Parliament for the region, Achak Tiab, along with local leaders, youth and women representatives, and religious leaders.

Minister Akoon expressed his gratitude to the Norwegian Refugee Council and all education partners for their valuable support to the education sector in North Bahr El-Ghazal, particularly in Aweil. He emphasized the importance of local community involvement in the maintenance of school facilities and pledged to work on improving the education system in the state as a whole.

According to the authorities, reported by Aweil News Agency, the maintenance work and the construction of classrooms and administrative offices took only three months, marking a significant achievement in the local educational infrastructure in the state.
