Al-Merrikh Defeats Rainbow in Round 17 Summit of Konyokonyo League

Al-Merrikh secured a 2-0 victory over rivals Rainbow in the top match of Week 17 in the local First Division League in Juba, played yesterday afternoon at Buluk Playground.

The goals for Al-Merrikh were scored by Dominic in the 18th minute, which ended the first half, and Michael, who added the second goal in stoppage time.

With this win, Al-Merrikh avenged their 1-0 defeat to Rainbow in Week 9 of the first round of the league.

This result lifted Al-Merrikh’s tally to 18 points, moving them up to eighth place, while Rainbow remained at 33 points, holding onto third place in the standings.

League action will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, with a match between Gudele and Al-Hilal in the afternoon at Buluk Playground, marking the start of Week 18 fixtures.
