Real Madrid broke their curse at Manchester City’s stadium with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the English team in the first leg of the Champions League playoff round.

Manchester City failed to maintain their lead twice, with two goals from Norwegian star Erling Haaland in the 19th minute and a penalty in the 80th minute. Real Madrid managed to equalize twice through goals from Kylian Mbappe and Brahim Diaz in the 60th and 86th minutes. English star Jude Bellingham then sealed the win with a dramatic stoppage-time goal in the 92nd minute, securing Real Madrid’s first-ever victory at City’s home ground.

This win boosts Real Madrid’s chances of advancing to the Round of 16 ahead of the second leg, which will take place next Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Spanish capital. The winner will face either Bayer Leverkusen or Atlético Madrid in the Round of 16.
