Holy Family Defeats Malakia in the Premier League

Holy Family Rumbek defeated Malakia Juba (3-1) in the tenth round of the South Sudan Premier League yesterday afternoon at Juba National Stadium.

Malakia took the lead in the match through striker Mbiour Herjok in the 37th minute. However, Holy Family quickly equalized a minute later through player Igam. Samuel added the second goal for Holy Family in the 41st minute, concluding the first half with a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Val scored the third goal for Holy Family in the 79th minute. Daniel sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time, ending the match with a (3-1) win for Holy Family.

With this result, Holy Family raised its tally to 22 points, securing second place, while Malakia remained at 11 points in seventh place on the league table.

Al-Merrikh 1 / 1 Young Star

The match between Al-Merrikh Bentiu and Young Star Torit ended in a 1-1 draw in the tenth round of the league.

Al-Merrikh’s goal was scored by Awok Akij in the 35th minute, while Young Star Torit equalized through Nelson just two minutes before the end of regular time.

With this result, Al-Merrikh raised its tally to 20 points, placing fourth, while Young Star remained with 8 points in 11th place in the standings.

Bentiu City 4 / 3 Nile City

Bentiu City returned to winning ways with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Nile City Yambio in the final match of the ninth round of the league.

Valentin opened the scoring for Bentiu City in the 8th minute, but Peter equalized for Nile City in the 18th minute. Valentin then added his second goal just two minutes before halftime.

In the second half, Peter struck again, scoring his second goal and equalizing for Nile City in the 54th minute. In the 79th minute, Val netted Bentiu City’s third goal, but Bokoyiga leveled the score for Nile City once more just before full-time.

However, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, player Tor scored the fourth and decisive goal for Bentiu City, securing a dramatic (4-3) victory.

With this result, Bentiu City climbed to eighth place with 11 points, while Nile City remained at the bottom of the table with zero points.

Lion Hunters 2 / 1 Olympic

Lion Hunters Yei secured an important 2-1 victory over Olympic Renk in the ninth round of the league.

The first half ended in a goalless draw.

Lion Hunters took the lead in the 28th minute through Victor, but Olympic equalized through player Mading in the 52nd minute.

Samuel then scored the winning goal for Lion Hunters four minutes before the end of the match.

With this result, Lion Hunters moved up to 10th place with 10 points, while Olympic remained in 13th place (second-last) with just one point.

Jamus 4 / 3 Koryom

Jamus Juba overcame a tough challenge from Koryom Bor, winning a thrilling 4-3 match in the ninth round of the league.

Koryom started strongly, scoring two quick goals through Kiria and Muema in the 5th and 7th minutes. However, Tito pulled one back for Jamus in the 12th minute, and Mohamed Adel equalized in the 35th minute.

Before halftime, Koryom regained the lead through Mawut. But in the 81st minute, Yohanna Paulino (Sissé) leveled the score again for Jamus.

In stoppage time, Sissé struck once more, scoring his second goal and the match-winning fourth goal for Jamus.

With this victory, Jamus reached 23 points and secured the top spot in the standings, while Koryom remained in fifth place with 19 points.

  • Kator Juba vs. Lion Hunters Yei (afternoon match).
  • Jamus Juba vs. Al-Hilal Wau (evening match).
