French coach Nicolas Dupuis, head of the South Sudan national team, has selected 34 players in preparation for the upcoming matches against Congo-Brazzaville and South Africa. These encounters are scheduled for the fifth and sixth rounds of qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025.
The announcement was made in a post by the South Sudan Football Association on its Facebook page.
The national team will face Congo-Brazzaville in the fifth round at Juba National Stadium on Thursday, November 14. The first match between the two teams ended with Congo winning 1-0 in Brazzaville. South Sudan will then travel to Pretoria to face South Africa on November 19, closing out the qualifiers. South Sudan previously lost to South Africa 3-2 in Juba.
The national team currently sits at the bottom of Group K with no points and has been eliminated from the qualifiers. The AFCON 2025 finals will be held in the Kingdom of Morocco
