Al Merrikh sweeps Nile City with five goals to move up to fourth place

Al Merrikh Bentiu swept Nile City Yambio by five goals to one in the final match of the second round of the South Sudan Premier League. The match was played in the second round of the South Sudan Premier League in its first edition, which was held yesterday afternoon at Juba National Stadium.

Al Merriekh took the lead in the 14th minute and Nile City equalised in the 29th minute through Tumba.

In the 29th minute, Samuel scored Al Merriekh’s second goal of the match. Habibo scored the third goal for Al Merriekh in the 49th minute. Thor added the fifth goal in the 75th minute.

Habibo was back on the scoresheet again, scoring his second personal goal and rounding off his team’s scoring exploits with the fifth goal of the match.

The referee ended the match with a 5/1 win for El Merriekh over Nile City.

Al Merrikh Bentiu increased their tally to 3 points. Nile City Yambio are without any points and have a postponed match in the first round of the tournament against Al Hilal Wau.

Al Hilal 1/1 Al Salam

Al Hilal Wau and Al Salam Aweil were held to a 1-1 draw in the second round of the competition.

Al Hilal took the lead through Esau in the 16th minute and Al Salam equalised through Lual in the 77th minute.

With this result, both Al Hilal Wau and Al Salam Aweil raised their tally to one point in the ninth and tenth positions respectively in the Premier League table.

Al Hilal Wau have a postponed match in the first round of the competition against Nile City Yambio.

Lion Hunters Yei and Korum Bor will meet today in the opening match of the third week of the tournament at the Juba National Stadium in the afternoon.

Koryom leads the tournament with 6 points after the second round of matches, followed by Kator with the same points. Jamus is third with 4 points. Al-Marrikh are fourth with 3 points. Lion Hunters are in fifth place with 3 points.
