Press Statement on the Fire Outbreak at Konyo Konyo Market

His Excellency, President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has learned with deep sorrow and concern about the unfortunate incident of a fire outbreak at Konyo Konyo Market in Juba earlier today. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire, which began yesterday afternoon, caused significant damage to many shops and commercial stores.
Expressing his sadness over the losses suffered by traders and business owners, His Excellency the President extends his heartfelt condolences and solidarity to all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
The President also encourages all those impacted by the fire to remain strong and patient during this difficult time. He has directed the Juba City Council and relevant security authorities to assess the extent of the damages and conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the fire.
Furthermore, the President has instructed both the Central Equatoria State authorities and the City Council to prioritize ensuring the safety and security of Konyo Konyo Market and to take the necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
