Jamus Club won the South Sudan Local Cup in Juba, for the second time in its history and the second consecutive time in the competition. After a 5/4 penalty shootout victory over rival Malakia FC, after the match ended in a 2/2 draw yesterday afternoon in the final match of the championship at the Juba National Stadium.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw. In the second half, Jamus opened the scoring through their player Mudathir in the 58th minute. Al Malakia equalised through Emmanuel in the 65th minute. Al Malakia striker Mabior added his team’s second goal in the 74th minute.
In the fifth minute of addentional time, Yuhanna scored the equaliser for Jamus, after which the referee blew the whistle to end the match with a 2/2 draw between the two teams. The game went to penalties from the penalty spot.

Jamus successfully converted all five of their kicks, while Al Malakia missed one penalty. Jamus won their second trophy of the competition. This is the third win for Jamus over Malakia in the last three finals, two in the Local Cup and one in the Super Cupup. This is the third win in the last three finals between the two sides, two in the domestic cup and one in the local super league.
In the tournament awards, Jamus’ international goalkeeper Majak Mauith was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament, while Almalakia Emamuel was named the best player of the tournament. Almalakia striker Tony won the tournament’s top scorer award with four goals.
With this, Jamus secured their participation in the next edition of the South Sudan National Cup representing the Juba Local Football Association.
