The Minister of Finance and Planning, Marial Dongrin, praised the outgoing First Undersecretary, Mr. Garang Majak, for his service in the ministry and congratulated the new First Undersecretary, Arop Nuoi, for earning the trust of the President of the Republic. He affirmed his full support for the Undersecretary to ensure the provision of satisfactory services to public sector workers in South Sudan.

Minister Dongrin called for a clear career path for civil servants, highlighting the rise of Mr. Arop within the ranks of the Ministry of Finance and Planning as a positive example to be emulated in the promotion process within public service.
The Minister informed the audience about the start of salary payments for civil servants and organized forces, which will continue until next week. He emphasized the ministry team’s commitment to addressing all challenges facing their work and overcoming them collectively.

The First Undersecretary for Finance, Mr. Arop Nuoi, affirmed his commitment to supporting the Minister and senior management to ensure the successful implementation of services at the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
Arop noted the difficult timing of his appointment, especially as the country faces numerous challenges, but expressed his confidence in Minister Dongrin’s leadership to ensure economic stability.
He added that the ministry, as the custodian of public funds, will prioritize public spending in alignment with the ministry’s fiscal policy as the key to economic reforms and overall macroeconomic stability.

Following the reception ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Mr. Bec George Anyak, led the handover ceremony between the outgoing First Undersecretary, Mr. Garang Majak, and the new First Undersecretary, Mr. Arop Nuoi, who officially assumed his duties.
