Juba County Authorities Arrest Seven Land Grabbers Found with AK-47

The government of Juba County in Central Equatoria State announced the arrest of seven individuals involved in illegal land grabbing in Garbor village, Beli-Nyang locality, north of Juba. The suspects were apprehended in possession of an AK-47 assault rifle. The operation was part of efforts to promote peace, unity, and stability in the area.

The raid was led by Juba County Commissioner Emmanuel Teti Azbon and Deputy Police Commissioner Zakayo Lado Lako.

Local reports from Juba County revealed that unidentified individuals had been threatening residents with firearms, forcing them to vacate the area. Joint security forces succeeded in apprehending the perpetrators, who were found in possession of an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and digging tools.

Speaking to the press, the local chief of Beli-Nyang, Andrea Furi Benjamin, stated:
“This morning, two individuals on a motorcycle came and ordered the removal of all markings in the area. They threatened me, saying I must comply with their demands or face dire consequences.”

The chief emphasized that such actions pose a serious threat to local residents. He also expressed gratitude to the county government for its swift response in addressing the chaos caused by these criminals, who disrupt the peace from time to time.
