Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Kiki Ghebo Discuss Collaborative Efforts on the Humanitarian Situation

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, met with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Ms. Kiki Ghebo, to discuss the humanitarian situation in the country.
Ambassador Semaya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with international partners to address the ongoing humanitarian situation, with a particular focus on flood response efforts. He expressed gratitude for the positive responses from partners and emphasized the importance of close coordination with the United Nations and other humanitarian agencies.


The Deputy Minister also noted the government’s satisfaction with the High-Level Monthly Coordination Meetings, describing them as an excellent platform for discussing critical issues in a productive manner. He emphasized that the spirit and approach of these meetings align with their shared goals.
Ms. Ghebo commended the effective relationship between the UN mission and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, as well as with all relevant ministries involved in coordination efforts.


She expressed her appreciation for the constructive feedback from the Ministry and was pleased that the monthly engagements are seen as beneficial. Both parties committed to exploring ways to further enhance these monthly interactions.
