Discussions on Arrangements for Memorial Service of UN Mission Head in South Sudan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Ambassador Monday Semaya K. Kumba, held a meeting with the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Anita Kiki Gbeho, to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest.

The talks focused on ongoing preparations for the memorial service of the late Nicholas Haysom, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), which is scheduled to take place tomorrow, 27 March, at the UN premises in Juba.

The meeting also addressed coordination between the two sides to ensure the ceremony is organized in a manner befitting the stature of the late official and his role in supporting peace and stability efforts in the country.
