ICT Minister Discusses Enhancing Media and Technical Cooperation with Ethiopian Ambassador

The Minister of ICT and Public Service, Ateny Wek Ateny, received the Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Kedir, in a meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of information technology and media.

The meeting came as part of a courtesy visit by the Ethiopian Ambassador, who recently assumed his duties in Juba, during which both sides discussed opportunities for partnership and joint cooperation across several key sectors.

The Minister emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in ICT and broadcasting, highlighting the need to develop the capacity of national media professionals, particularly through organizing joint training programs between journalists of the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) and their Ethiopian counterparts in the near future.

For his part, the Ethiopian Ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to enhance cooperation with South Sudan, stressing the importance of working together in the spirit of good neighborliness and Pan-African unity, in a way that contributes to the development of the media and journalism sector in both countries.
