South Sudan’s Minister of Health Meets Zambian Counterpart to Discuss Ways to Enhance Joint Health Cooperation

South Sudan’s Minister of Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto, met today with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Zambia, Hon. Elijah Julaki Muchima, Member of Parliament, in a bilateral meeting focused on strengthening health cooperation between the two countries.

In a post on her official Facebook page, Minister Cleto stated that the meeting featured fruitful discussions on opportunities for knowledge exchange, cross-border health initiatives, and joint efforts to address major public health challenges — including the fight against cholera and malaria, as well as improving maternal and child health.

The Minister praised Zambia’s experience in health financing and strengthening its health system, describing it as a valuable model from which South Sudan can draw lessons in its pursuit of a more resilient and inclusive healthcare system.

She concluded by stressing the importance of continued partnership and regional solidarity, emphasizing that collaborative action is key to achieving better health outcomes for the people of both nations.
