The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Headquarters in Juba witnessed a significant political event today, Tuesday, as the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of several senior party officials. The event marks a key step in the party’s internal restructuring and in reinforcing its leadership cohesion.

During the ceremony, Professor Paul Logale was officially sworn in as the new SPLM Secretary General, along with his newly appointed deputies.
The ceremony also included the swearing-in of:
- Cde. Gola Boyoi Gola, Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, as the SPLM Administrative Chairperson for the region, and
- Cde. Rabi Mujong Emmanuel, Governor of Central Equatoria State, as the SPLM State Chairperson.
Observers described the event as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s vision across the states of South Sudan and its administrative areas.
In his remarks, President Kiir stressed the importance of unity and collective action within the party, urging the newly appointed leaders to take their responsibilities seriously and work to fulfill the aspirations of the South Sudanese people through responsible and effective leadership.
The ceremony was attended by several political and diplomatic figures, party members, and supporters who gathered to witness this important milestone in the SPLM’s political journey.


The appointment of these leaders is part of SPLM’s broader efforts to restructure its leadership and enhance its capacity to confront the country’s political and developmental challenges. It also reflects the party’s commitment to renewal and opening new avenues for stability and growth in South Sudan.
The newly sworn-in leaders are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s political future, especially as the government continues to pursue security and sustainable development across all regions.
