The National Ministry of Health organized an official reception this morning at its headquarters in the capital, Juba, to welcome the newly appointed Minister of Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, following her recent appointment by the President of the Republic, H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The event witnessed a large turnout of ministry staff, senior officials, and partners from the health sector, who gathered early in the day in a vibrant and optimistic atmosphere. The celebration featured cultural performances and speeches expressing strong support and encouragement for the new minister’s leadership.

In her address, Hon. Rial expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed her firm commitment to strengthening the country’s healthcare system and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
“It is an honor to serve my country in this esteemed role and to be part of such a dedicated team,” she stated. “Together, we will work to ensure effective and equitable healthcare services reach every citizen, while supporting and empowering our frontline health workers.”
Several senior officials highlighted in their remarks the importance of unity, teamwork, innovation, and continuity in tackling current health challenges—most notably maternal health, infectious disease control, and the development of healthcare infrastructure.
The ceremony concluded with musical performances and informal interactions among attendees, creating an atmosphere of hope and optimism for a new chapter in the Ministry of Health under the leadership of Minister Sarah Cleto Rial.
