Gold Star Advances to the Cup Quarter Final at the Expense of Al-A’mal Al-Hurra

Gold Star Rumbek has advanced to the final round of the South Sudan National Cup, which will take place in Juba, after defeating their rival Al-A’mal Al-Hurra Kuajok 1-0 in a decisive match for the third qualification spot from Group A. The match was held yesterday afternoon at Freedom Playground in Rumbek.

The champions of Rumbek have now qualified for the final stage of the competition alongside Aweil United, Majak Ajuong, Wanyjok.

From Group B, the defending champions Jamus Juba, last season’s runner-up Al-Merrikh Bentiu, and Koryom Bor have all qualified through Juba. Meanwhile, Al-Merrikh Renk and Qalb Al-Asad Melut advanced from Group C through Renk.

The draw for the quarterfinals of the tournament, whose matches will be played in Juba, is scheduled to take place today at SSFA HQ .
