Al-Merrikh Bentiu fell into the trap of a draw against their rivals, Wajuma Aweil, yesterday afternoon at Juba National Stadium in a postponed match from the 12th round of the South Sudan Premier League’s first leg.

Al-Merrikh took the lead through their striker, Samuel Akinbinu, in the third minute of added time, giving his team the advantage just before the end of the first half.
After returning from the break, Maher Abasher equalized for Wajuma just six minutes into the second half.

The match continued without either team scoring another goal, ending in a 1-1 draw. This result raised Al-Merrikh’s tally to 27 points, placing them fourth in the league standings, while Wajuma now has 15 points, sitting in seventh place.

Two matches are scheduled for today. The first will see Kator Juba face Young Star Torit in the afternoon at Buluk Playground, while the second match will feature Lion Hunters Yei against Salam Aweil in the afternoon at Juba National Stadium. All these matches are postponed fixtures from the 12th round of the league.
