Al Merrikh temporarily tops the table with win over Al Hilal

Al Merrikh Bentiu won a 2-0 victory over Al Hilal Wau in the opening match of the seventh round of the South Sudan Premier League yesterday afternoon at the Juba National Stadium.

Samuel opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. That was the end of the first half.

In the second half, Tot added the second goal in the 58th minute to end the match with Al Merrikh Bentiu beating Al Hilal Wau by two goals without reply.

Al Merriekh increased their tally to 18 points at the top of the table. Al Hilal’s tally stood at 4 points in tenth place.

Malakia 1 / 2 Koryom

Korm Bor got back to winning ways after falling in the last round to Al-Marrikh. They defeated their rivals Al Malakia by two goals to one in the seventh round of the tournament.

Koryom scored the first goal from the penalty spot through Kiriya in the 15th minute. Kassimo equalised for the Malakia in the 20th minute. The first half ended with the same scoreline.

In the second half, in the 55th minute, Kiriya scored his second personal goal and the winning goal for Koryom. The game ended with a 2-1 victory over the Royals.

Koryom moved up to 18 points in second place. Malakia’s tally stands at 7 points in seventh place in the standings.

Two matches will be played today. The first match will be between Kator Juba and Olympic Renk at noon, while Jamus Juba will take on Lion Hunters Yei in the second match in the afternoon. All matches will take place at the Juba National Stadium.
