Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Meets with Norwegian Delegation

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, welcomed a delegation from Norway headed by the Deputy Secretary General of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at his office.

During the discussions, Deputy Minister Kumba highlighted the vital role played by the people and government of Norway in supporting South Sudan’s struggle for liberation, particularly during the war that ultimately led to the country’s independence.

Deputy Minister Kumba provided the Norwegian delegation with a comprehensive overview of the ongoing peace efforts in South Sudan, emphasizing the commitment to achieving lasting peace with all involved parties.

He encouraged the Norwegian government to continue its support for these peace initiatives, as well as for key projects focusing on government institutional reform aimed at enhancing service delivery to citizens.

Mr. Vegar Brynilden, Deputy Secretary General of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed his gratitude to the people of South Sudan for their effective management of recent tensions, which were successfully de-escalated.
