WHO Provides Cholera Medicines in Renk

The World Health Organization in South Sudan has delivered 12 metric tons of medicines for health emergency kits to the relevant authorities in Renk, northern Upper Nile State.

The National Ministry of Health had previously announced a cholera outbreak in Renk.

In addition to cholera medicines, the health emergency kits include 25 beds, two cholera logistics modules, and ten tents of various sizes.

The emergency kits are funded by the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid and the United Arab Emirates.

The WHO report stated that, as a result of these efforts, the emergency kits provide sufficient medicines to treat approximately 74,000 people.
