Preparations Completed for Launch of National Polio Vaccination Campaign

The National Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and UNICEF, has completed preparations to launch a wide-scale national campaign for polio vaccination.

The campaign targets children under five years old, providing vaccination against paralysis caused by the mutated Type 2 polio virus.

Last week, the National Ministry of Health held a refresher training course for vaccination personnel across the country to ensure

the successful administration of the vaccine to children.The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is generously supported by South Sudan’s health partners.
