President Salva Kiir Mayardit received a comprehensive briefing from Atong Kuol Manyang, the Deputy Governor of Jonglei State, regarding the current security situation, economic and humanitarian issues, and the overall conditions in the state.
#Speaking to the media, Atong emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening security efforts and cooperating with the Transitional National Unity Government to restore peace and stability in Jonglei.
Atong also requested President Kiir’s intervention to resolve the ongoing internal disputes within the Episcopal Church in Jonglei, warning that these divisions pose a significant security threat to the counties of the state.
President Kiir reaffirmed his commitment to the country’s development, highlighting the continuation of the highway project connecting Bor to the Upper Nile region.
