President Welcomes Sudanese Counterpart at Juba International Airport


Juba: Al-Naeim Mubarak Kuol

President Salva Kiir Mayardit received the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, at Juba International Airport this morning. Al-Burhan arrived on an official visit that had been announced two days prior.

The two leaders are expected to hold bilateral discussions on issues related to border security, economic cooperation, the resumption of oil production and transportation, and the situation in the Abyei area.

According to analysts, the two leaders have several critical issues to address, particularly regarding security and humanitarian conditions.

Al-Burhan was accompanied by a number of senior officials, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, National Security, Energy, and Mining, among others.
