President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Chairperson of the East African Community, arrived in Arusha, Tanzania, to a joyful official and public reception adorned with traditional rituals on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the East African Community’s establishment.President Kiir will lead the discussions of the highly anticipated 24th Ordinary Summit of the East African Heads of State and Government.

A new chairperson for the community will be selected, and the presidency will be handed over.
