Juba: Al-Na’im Mubarak KulPresident Salva Kiir Mayardit signed the Financial and Planning Acts and approved the state budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The Transitional National Legislative Assembly Speaker, Jemma Nunu Kumba, presented the laws to the President after their approval by the Assembly members.

Michael Ayuen Johnson, Chair of the Specialized Committee on Finance and Planning, stated that now, with the President’s signing of the financial laws and policies, attention will turn to the Ministry of Finance and Planning, which will be responsible for managing the release of funds to various ministries and government agencies.
It is noteworthy that the 2024-2025 fiscal year’s budget amounts to 4.2 trillion South Sudanese Pounds and outlines government spending priorities in key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, humanitarian affairs, social welfare, and others.
