Juba: Al-Naeim Mubarak Kuol
The National Ministry of Health and Juba Teaching Hospital celebrated the graduation of 54 medical staff who completed a five-day training on the use of the advanced and equipped ICU devices at Juba Teaching Hospital.
This six-bed ICU, supported by MASHAV — Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, aims to provide critical care to patients here in South Sudan, significantly enhancing healthcare capabilities.

During the certificate awarding ceremony, Dr. Harriet Akello Pasquale, the Undersecretary of the National Ministry of Health, expressed her deep gratitude to partners in Israel.Harriet emphasized that thanks to South Sudan’s partners, the Ministry of Health is now able to expand ICU services, bringing advanced medical care closer to the people of South Sudan.Dr. Harriet also reminded healthcare workers of the importance of teamwork, stating, “Every member of our ICU team, from doctors to cleaners, plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care and infection prevention.”She added, “Let us continue to strive for excellence and ensure that healthcare remains accessible to everyone in the country.”

She expressed her gratitude to all who contributed to this achievement, especially the dedicated staff at Juba Teaching Hospital — and their commitment.She gave special thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Wol Mayar, Director of the Middle East and Gulf Department, and Dr. Barati Yosef, head of MASHAV’s delegation to South Sudan, for their unwavering support.She concluded by stating that it is possible to ensure that no life is left in need of care beyond the scope of service.
She called for continued progress on the journey towards better healthcare for all.
