The National Communication Authority (NCA) of South Sudan has announced the launch of a key stakeholder engagement event titled “Meeting the Regulator”, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and partnership with key players in the telecommunications sector — notably Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and all licensed entities.

This initiative comes amid the Authority’s acknowledgment of persistent gaps in communication and coordination with some telecom companies. These gaps, according to the NCA, have negatively impacted consistent regulatory compliance, limited joint corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and hindered opportunities for coordinated sectoral development.
In an official statement, the Authority emphasized that this move aligns with its mandate as the regulator of South Sudan’s communications sector and reflects its commitment to creating a transparent, fair, and innovation-driven regulatory environment.
The event aims to foster open dialogue with industry partners, share the latest policy updates, discuss compliance frameworks, and align stakeholders around upcoming regulatory guidelines and initiatives.

The NCA stressed that improving this level of engagement will enhance transparency and coordination within the ICT ecosystem and ensure the delivery of efficient, reliable, and nationally compliant services to the public.
It is worth noting that South Sudan’s telecommunications sector has witnessed notable growth in recent years — a trend that further underscores the importance of strengthening public-private collaboration to sustain and maximize the impact of this progress at the national level.
