Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Resident Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Monday Semaya Kumba, assured that the situation in the country is calm and stable during a meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Resident Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, Ms. Kiki Ghebho, yesterday at the ministry.

The two sides discussed the current political situation in the country, the economic and humanitarian situation, and how efforts between the government and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) could be coordinated to serve the citizens affected by the challenges the country is facing.

Ms. Kiki Ghebho praised the government’s response to humanitarian efforts and the facilitation of the work of international humanitarian organizations operating in South Sudan. Deputy Minister Semaya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to handling the current situation in a friendly and flexible manner, emphasizing that the situation in the country is currently calm, with some stability in most regions
