National Election Commission Holds Consultative Preparatory Meetings for Elections

Juba: Al-Naeim Mubarak Kuol

The National Election Commission has launched consultative meetings to prepare for the elections in several states across the country.
The process of voter education, civic awareness, and the dissemination of electoral information is of paramount importance to ensure that all individuals are able to cast their votes in the elections scheduled for the end of next year.

There is a clear need for close cooperation between religious groups, civil society organizations, and the media to strengthen these partnerships with all concerned parties.

The National Election Commission held important consultative meetings in both Lakes and Upper Nile states to engage with local community stakeholders on how to organize the elections. These consultative meetings were supported by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and various UN entities involved in the preparations for the elections, which are scheduled for December 2026.
