Juba: Al-Naeim Mubarak Kuol
Comrade Joseph Ukongo Uwar Ulum visited the headquarters of Derawet Media Group to witness the achievements of his fellow comrade during the struggle Manyjok Kong Manyjok, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Derawet Media Group.
Manyjok Kong welcomed his comrade, who took time out of his schedule to visit the media institution, offer moral support, and praise the idea of establishing this platform as a continuation of the revolutionary struggle for the liberation of South Sudan, ensuring its sovereignty and independence like other nations.

Comrade Joseph emphasized the crucial role of media in reminding future generations of the history of the struggle and reinforcing the principles and values fought for by the heroes, led by Dr. John Garang de Mabior, the leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army and Movement (SPLA/M).
He praised Derawet Media Group and urged them to promote the legacy of the SPLM, highlighting the bright history of both fallen and living freedom fighters, as they represent the true historical foundation of South Sudan. He also acknowledged the efforts of Terab Radio, owned by Mading Ngor, which hosts veteran fighters to share their experiences and discuss how they contributed to realizing the dream of an independent South Sudan.
The revolutionary Ukongo, who hails from Equatoria and has long fought—and continues to fight—for South Sudan, called on the editorial team of Derawet Media Group to dedicate space for documenting the history of the struggle and providing authentic information to the people of South Sudan. He emphasized the importance of interviews and discussions with veteran fighters and their families, considering this an essential step in preserving history and honoring both living and fallen freedom fighters.
In response, Manyjok Kong reaffirmed that Derawet Media is an independent media, social, and cultural institution committed to spreading information and documenting the history of South Sudan. He assured that the editorial team would act on Comrade Joseph Ukongo’s recommendations to benefit the people of South Sudan.
