Local sources in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State revealed that joint security forces have recovered a variety of items stolen during recent protests over the killing of South Sudanese citizens in Wad Madani, Gezira State, Sudan.
The recovered items included blankets, corn flour, refrigerators, bags, cooking oil, onions, chairs, and iron windows.
The state governor, Simon Apur Mawat, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the joint security forces for their efforts in recovering the stolen goods and maintaining peace in the state.

He stated, “The entire world, the people of South Sudan, and the citizens of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State will recognize that there are still individuals with a sense of nationalism among us. What happened last week, with the looting, was a great shame for all of us.”
He continued, “The blame falls on us for failing to control the angry youth who looted the market in the presence of the organized forces. Today, you have demonstrated that you are present and capable.”
Baselio Thomas Wani, the state police director, said the search for the stolen items was conducted by joint security forces in various residential areas.
