South Sudan Central Bank Governor Urges Forex Bureaus to Innovate and Diversify

The Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) is encouraging Forex Bureaus to remain competitive by becoming more innovative and diversified in their operations.
Members of the Forex Bureaus met with Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, the Governor of BoSS, who urged them to expand their trading activities to include areas beyond foreign currencies and to keep pace with new market trends.


The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Governor, Hon. Samuel Yeni Costa, along with other senior bank officials. Discussions focused on the importance of registered Forex Bureaus and addressed key issues such as the pressure from excessive taxation and the growing influence of unlicensed market vendors.
Governor Ohisa called for enhanced cooperation within the sector to combat the expanding illegal market and emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the role of Forex Bureaus in the economy.
