The President Calls on Citizens and Security Forces to Uphold the Spirit of Festivities in Maintaining Peace and Unity

President Salva Kiir Mayardit resumed his work today after the peaceful Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in the Philippines. President Kiir expressed his gratitude to the citizens, military, and security forces for maintaining peace and order.
Kiir wished the citizens a prosperous New Year and called for the preservation of peace and unity in all aspects of life. He also urged government employees to remain dedicated and focused on delivering essential services to the people.
The president praised the citizens and security forces for maintaining security and peace during the celebrations across the country.


He was received by senior officials and staff in a formal ceremony by the Republican Guards Band upon his arrival at the office to resume official work.
Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ambassador Chol Mawut Ajongo, stated that the president wished the citizens a prosperous New Year and urged people to uphold the same spirit and maintain peace and unity.
Mawut added that President Kiir called on government employees to continue their dedication and focus on providing essential services to the people of South Sudan.
The minister mentioned that the president reaffirmed his commitment to continue efforts to restore peace and stability across the country throughout 2025.
