The Minister of Health, Dr. Yolanda Awel Deng, conducted an inspection visit to the Anadi Primary Health Care Center and the Gorom Camp for Sudanese refugees to assess the scale of health challenges, explore solutions, and promote local community participation in responding to the campaign against the cholera outbreak.
The visit included key locations such as the internally displaced persons camp “POC 3” and the Gorom refugee camp, where Central Equatoria State recorded 1,840 cholera cases, with 1,300 reported in the “POC 3” camps.

Dr. Deng listened to the views of citizens, identifying challenges such as a lack of oral rehydration points and insufficient vaccination coverage.
The National Minister of Health, Dr. Yolanda Awel Deng, emphasized the importance of engaging the local community and strengthening health facilities. The cholera vaccination campaign began on December 18, aiming to reach the affected populations.
The visit concluded with a call for the public to adhere to health regulations, along with an expression of gratitude for the support provided.
