The Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State, Mr. Deng Goh Angok, discussed the challenges facing local communities in Malakal County.
The intensive meetings with local authorities, chiefs, and traditional leaders focused on three main issues among the problems facing the communities in the area. These included the flooding disasters, where strategies for addressing and mitigating the ongoing challenges caused by the floods affecting citizens around the city of Malakal were discussed.
The meeting also addressed the issue of teachers’ salaries, and it was agreed to resolve the delayed payments for teachers amicably.

The issue of unpaid salaries for doctors was also reviewed, and the meeting explored ways to address the non-payment of doctors, including those recruited by CD at the DPOC oil production company.
Deng Joh assured the authorities of his commitment to addressing the challenges within his capacity, while acknowledging the limitations he faces. The meeting was attended by all the chiefs and assistant chiefs of Malakal County, reflecting a collective effort to find solutions to these urgent issues.
