Whispers of Advice : Stop the Empty Talk

Author: Eliza James William

The primary reason behind many of the challenges facing this country revolves around the harmful tongues—negative discussions filled with unconstructive criticism, condemnations, and pointless complaints expressed by the people of this nation, and then by foreigners.

Intentionally or unintentionally, this indirectly contributes to the various pains and discomforts we experience.

To clarify the source that confirms the power of words, whether negative or positive, on the course of events: Read Genesis 1:3—”And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

The Word of God in the Bible demonstrates the ability of words to create and bring things into existence, even if they didn’t exist before. If we observe our speech, we’ll realize that we often utter empty negativities about our beloved country, South Sudan, instead of blessing it with good words, prayers for well-being, grace, peace, security, and stability.

We can summon goodness, blessings, and positive outcomes through uplifting words instead of criticism, condemnation, and futile complaints.

Thus, I urge my fellow countrymen to change our situation by changing our words to positive ones.

Start your day by saying: “Lord, thank You for being in control. Thank You for managing our circumstances. Thank You because South Sudan is well. As long as You are with us…” Change your words and you will notice and witness goodness sprouting anew like a lush, green tree providing shade.

Thank you for reading. This is my voice—a voice of love, a voice of reform.
