Governor Inspects Security Situation in Ulang County Following Recent Attack

The State Governor, Jacob Dollar Ruot, conducted a field visit to Ulang County to assess the evolving security situation following a recent attack attributed to elements linked to SPLM-IO.

The Governor arrived in the county by road from Nasir, carrying out a comprehensive assessment of community conditions and humanitarian needs in the areas he passed through along the way.

During the visit, the Governor held meetings with local leaders, including County Commissioner Gen. Nhial Batoang, as well as residents of the area. He noted a significant improvement in the security situation and a gradual return to calm.

In the same context, reports indicated that large numbers of displaced residents have returned to Ulang town, reflecting growing confidence in the stability of the area.

The Governor praised the resilience of the citizens and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing efforts to ensure security and support recovery initiatives. He also emphasized the importance of sustaining peace, strengthening security cooperation, and promoting community dialogue as key measures to prevent future incidents.

The visit comes as part of broader government efforts to respond swiftly to security challenges and to enhance direct engagement with local communities.
