Al Salam and Holy Family draw in the Premier League

Al Salam Aweil and Holy Family Rumbek played out a 1-1 draw in the fourth round of the South Sudan Premier League yesterday afternoon at the Juba National Stadium.

Holy Family took the lead in the match through their player John in the 35th minute. Bak scored the equaliser for Al Salam in the last minute of the match.

With this result, Al Salam Aweil and Holy Family Rumbek increased their points to 5 and 4, moving them up to 5th and 8th positions respectively in the league table.

Al Hilal 4/2 Young Star

Al Hilal Wau defeated Yang Star Torit 4-2 in the fourth round of the competition.

Yang Star took the lead in the match with the first goal of the match in stoppage time of the first half through Odoko. That was the end of the first half.

In the second half, Fadhul equalised for Al Hilal in the 48th minute and Santino added a second goal in the 50th minute.

Yousuf extended Al Hilal’s lead with a third goal in the 66th minute and Fadhul added a fourth goal in the 88th minute.

Wani reduced the score for Yang Astar Torit by scoring his team’s second goal in the 88th minute. The referee blew the whistle to end the match with Al Hilal Wau beating Yang Astar Torit 4-2.

With this result, Al Hilal raised their score to 4 points in seventh place. Yang Istar’s tally stood at 3 points in eleventh place in the table.

Koryom 4 / 0 Bentiu City

Koryom Bor swept aside Bentiu City by four goals to nil in the fourth round of the league.

Goch scored the first goal of the game for Korum in the sixth minute. That’s how the first half ended.

Musma added the second goal for Koryom in the 67th minute and Kirya followed it up with the third goal in the 71st minute.

Mawut rounded off the scoring for Koryom with the fourth goal in the 76th minute. The match ended with Koryom Bor beating Bentiu City by four goals to nil.

The win took Koryom’s tally to 12 points and moved them up to second place in the table behind leaders Kotor. Bentiu City are now in 12th place with 3 points.

Kator 7 / 0 Nile City

Leaders Kator Juba inflicted their biggest win so far in the competition on bottom side Nile City Yambio, scoring seven goals to nil in the fourth round of the competition.

Kuku took an early lead for Kator in the fourth minute of the match. Michael added a second goal in the 21st minute and star player Pap Chol scored the third goal in the 35th minute, ending the first half of the match with Kator leading Nile City by three goals to nil.

In the second half, Abraham extended Kator’s lead with a fourth goal in the 59th minute.

Pap Chol came back to score his second goal and the fifth for Kator in the 62nd minute. He completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute.

Pap Chol completed the scoring feast with his seventh goal, and his fourth of the match in the 88th minute. The match ended with a huge victory for Kator Juba over Nile City Yambio by seven goals without a goal. This is the biggest win so far in the league.

With this result, Kator Juba strengthened their lead at the top of the league with 12 points.Nile City Yambio remain at the bottom of the standings with no points.

The match between Olympic Renk and Wajuma Aweil was postponed due to the recent cetuation in Juba.

The tournament continues today with a much between Al Merrikh Bentiu and Olympic Renk at 1.30pm at Juba National Stadium, in the opening match of the fifth round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Almalakia Juba and Lion Hunters Yei will meet at 3.30pm in the fifth round of the competition at Juba National Stadium.
