Deng Mao scores a hat-trick to lead Al Salam past Bentiu City

Deng Mao led his team Al Salam Awil to a valuable victory over Bentiu City by three goals to two, in the match held between the two teams this afternoon at the Juba National Stadium. The match was part of the third round of the first edition of the Premier League.


Deng Mao scored the three goals in the match in the 9th/71st/78th minutes, marking his first hat-trick in the competition.


Bentiu City took the lead in the fifth minute through Tate James. Deng Mao equalised for Al Salam in the ninth minute.


Tate James went on to score Bentiu City’s second goal and his second personal goal of the match in the 70th minute. Just a minute later, Deng Mao scored his second goal and the second equaliser for Al Salam.
In the 78th minute, Deng Mao scored his third goal of the match and the winning goal for his team with a hat-trick. Al Salam emerged victorious with a score of 3/2, after a loss and a draw in the previous two rounds.


Deng Mao became the first player to score a hat-trick since the start of the tournament.
With this result, Al Salam Aweil took their tally to 4 points. Bentiu City’s tally stands at 3 points after one win and two defeats.


The tournament will continue tomorrow with a match between Kator Juba and Al Hilal Wau. The third round match will take place in the afternoon at the Juba National Stadium.
