The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has decided to introduce changes to the South Sudan Premier League (SSPL). After two rounds of the competition, in order to optimise performance and ensure the smooth running of the competition in its first edition.
Wiyual Lam, Chairman of the Competitions Committee, presided over the meeting of the organising committee in the presence of members of the board of directors and representatives of the clubs participating in the Premier League. Everyone agreed on the need to work as a team for the success of the league. Everyone agreed to reschedule the matches of the championship by holding two matches per day. Starting from the fourth round until the thirteenth round.
The first round of the championship will end on the 18th of February. The clubs will then enter a two-week break. This is to allow for the South Sudan National Cup. In which a number of Premier League clubs participate.
The championship matches are played since the first and second rounds, with one match per day of the week. In the new amendment, only four days will be used to play the tournament matches.
The organising committee has so far postponed two matches in the first round of the competition between Olympic Renk and Holy Family Rumbek. Al Hilal Wau and Nile City Yambio for various reasons.
