The President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant government institutions to take urgent measures to address the challenges facing South Sudan\u2019s diplomatic missions abroad during an official briefing held at the State House on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President\u2019s directive followed a progress report presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on the current status of the country\u2019s diplomatic missions and the steps being implemented by the ministry to improve administrative and diplomatic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Kiir stressed the importance of strengthening South Sudan\u2019s diplomatic presence on the international stage and underscored the need to provide the necessary support to foreign missions to effectively represent the country\u2019s interests abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, Dr. Morgan stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue coordination and joint efforts with the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and other government institutions to address obstacles affecting the operations of diplomatic missions overseas. He also expressed appreciation for the President\u2019s continued support to the ministry in carrying out its national duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Kiir reaffirmed his full support for government efforts aimed at developing the foreign affairs sector and improving the performance of South Sudan\u2019s diplomatic missions as part of broader government reforms intended to strengthen public institutions and enhance the country\u2019s diplomatic relations internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
