The Republic of South Sudan is participating in the Africa\u2013France Summit currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on behalf of President Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The summit is jointly hosted by Kenyan President Dr. William Samoei Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, with the participation of several Heads of State, government officials, and senior African and international representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The summit discusses a number of regional and international issues, including strengthening economic partnerships, investment, innovation, as well as peace, security, and regional cooperation. It is also the first Africa\u2013France Summit to be held in a non-Francophone African country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon his arrival in Nairobi, the minister was received by Dr. Korir Singoei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs at Kenya\u2019s Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Undersecretary Ambassador Agnes Oswaha, Acting Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires Ambassador Barnaba Bol, along with other government officials and staff of the South Sudan Embassy in Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
