The National Ministry of Roads and Bridges, in collaboration with the Central Equatoria State Government and Juba City Council, has launched a major road maintenance and rehabilitation initiative in Juba, aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the flow of traffic and public services across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official launch ceremony was attended by the National Minister of Roads and Bridges, Peter Lam Both, alongside the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, senior officials from Juba City Council, and other government representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintenance works officially commenced on the Juba University \u2013 Hai Thoura \u2013 Buluk Road as part of a broader plan targeting the rehabilitation of key roads in the capital and ensuring continuous maintenance, particularly ahead of the rainy season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the event, Minister Peter Lam Both stressed the importance of cooperation between the national government and the state government in implementing infrastructure projects. He praised the level of coordination with the Central Equatoria State Government, noting that sustained partnership is essential for building modern road networks that meet technical standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor also instructed neighborhood councils to work closely with Juba City Council authorities to strengthen cleanliness and security within residential areas, reaffirming the state government\u2019s commitment to reclaiming public spaces and holding violators accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Juba City Council said the road maintenance project reflects the government\u2019s commitment to improving public services, calling for increased budget allocations for road construction and maintenance according to required standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State Government and Juba City Council emphasized that continuous maintenance efforts, public cooperation, and enforcement of regulations are critical to preserving roads and reducing flood risks during the rainy season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents of Hai Thoura and local business owners welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the rehabilitation works would improve transportation and services within the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
